What is the difference between BV and BVR cable?
The flexibility. BV is a single solid copper core (Class 1), making it rigid and ideal for long straight runs in walls. BVR is a stranded flexible copper core (Class 2), designed for cabinets or corners where bending is required.
How does BV differ from RV wire?
Conductor class. BV is rigid (Solid). RV is ultra-flexible (Class 5 fine strands).
What does "ZC-BV" mean?
It indicates Flame Retardant (Zu Ran). Standard BV burns if ignited. ZC-BV (equivalent to IEC 60332) self-extinguishes after the fire source is removed. For high-safety areas (malls, hospitals), you should specify ZC-BV or WDZ-BV (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) to meet fire codes.
