Despite its thickness, it is designed to be flexible. It typically uses Class 5 stranded copper conductors. However, due to the large overall diameter and the layers of bedding/insulation, the minimum bending radius is usually 10x to 15x the cable diameter, which is larger than cables with fewer cores.
Use CY (Shielded) if the cable is installed near power lines, VFDs, or sensitive data cables. With 36 cores, the risk of "crosstalk" or picking up external EMI is higher. Use YY (Unshielded) only in low-noise environments where mechanical flexibility is the priority.
The cores are stranded in concentric layers (layers of wires twisted around a center).
