- Product Details
YY cable meaning flexible multicore PVC control cable used in applications requiring frequent bending and movement, with numerical and color-coded core identification. Due to the lack of metallic shielding in cy and sy cables, yy flex cables may be more susceptible to EMI and more suited to environments with less mechanical stress, such as portable or flexible equipment. Common yy type cables include yy cable 4 core and 8 core yy cable. YY cable sizes are ranging from 0.5 mm² to 16 mm². We will also offer your best yy cable price.

FAQ
What is the difference between YY and SY cable?
YY is unarmoured and highly flexible. SY features a Galvanized Steel Wire Braid (GSWB) under a transparent sheath. SY provides mechanical protection against abrasion and accidental cuts, whereas YY is lighter and designed for environments with low mechanical stress.
Is YY cable shielded against electrical interference?
No. YY cable is unshielded. It offers no protection against Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). If you are installing cables near VFDs (drives) or sensitive data lines where interference is a concern, you should choose CY Cable (Screened) instead.
Are the conductors in YY cable flexible?
Yes. YY cable utilizes Class 5 flexible stranded copper conductors. This flexibility allows for easy installation in cable trays, trunking, and connection to movable machinery parts
