240mm armoured cable refers to electrical cable that cross section area is 240 sqmm (mm²). 240mm cable is large size, and it can carry high electrical current. Under BS 7671 standards, 240mm 4-core SWA is rated for approximately 495 Amps in free air (clipped direct) and 428 Amps direct buried (ground ambient 20°C).
What is the minimum bending radius?
The standard 8x O.D. applies. With an O.D. of ~65mm, the minimum radius is 520mm (0.52m).
Can this cable be terminated into a standard 400A Panelboard?
Check the Spreader Box. 240mm cables are stiff and require a large "spreading room" to fan out the cores. Standard compact panelboards may require an additional extension box to accommodate the bend radius of the cores.
