XGB Cable is a 0.6/1kV halogen-free low voltage power cable for fixed installation. It uses copper conductors, XLPE insulation and a green LSZH outer sheath. The cable is selected for projects where low smoke emission, halogen-free performance and flame retardance are required.

Compared with PVC power cables, XGB Cable is more suitable for buildings and infrastructure where fire safety requirements are stricter. During fire conditions, the LSZH sheath helps reduce dense smoke and corrosive gas, which is important for evacuation routes, public buildings and electrical rooms.

XGB Cable is intended for cable trays, ducts, conduits, riser shafts and protected cable routes. It is not a flexible trailing cable. For outdoor or underground installation, confirm UV resistance, moisture protection, mechanical protection and local installation rules before ordering.

Typical Applications:

  • Public buildings and commercial facilities
  • Hospitals, airports and railway stations
  • High-rise building power distribution
  • Industrial low voltage circuits
  • Cable trays, ducts and riser shafts
  • Fixed feeder circuits in utility projects

Selection Note:  Buyers often compare XGB Cable with XVB cable. XGB normally uses LSZH halogen-free materials, while XVB is commonly PVC based. Choose XGB when smoke reduction, halogen-free performance and CPR fire classification are project requirements.

XGB Cable Specification:

  • Max Conductor Temperature: 90°C
  • Short Circuit Temperature: 250°C
  • Operating Temperature:  -15°C to +60°C
  • Minimum Bending Radius: 12 x cable diameter for multicore cable
  • Reference Standards: IEC 60502-1, NBN HD 604
  • Flame Retardant: IEC 60332-1 / IEC 60332-3
  • Halogen-Free: IEC 60754-1 / IEC 60754-2
  • Low Smoke Density: IEC 61034
  • CPR Reaction to Fire: EN 50399, class subject to supplied version

XGB Cable Construction:

  • Conductor: Copper conductor, Class 1 solid or Class 2 stranded, used for low voltage power transmission.
  • Core Insulation: XLPE insulation, rated for 0.6/1kV fixed power circuits.
  • ore Assembly: Insulated cores laid together to form a stable multicore cable structure.
  • Filler / Inner Layer: Halogen-free filler or wrapping layer, used to keep the cable round and support the cores.
  • Outer Sheath: Green LSZH halogen-free compound, designed to reduce smoke and corrosive gas during fire conditions.

Technical Data Note: All values are indicative and based on IEC 60228 copper conductors at 20°C. Actual values may vary depending on cable construction, number of cores, installation conditions, and manufacturing tolerance.

Current ratings are based on single cable in air at 30°C and should be verified according to actual installation conditions.

FAQ

XGB Cable is used for fixed 0.6/1kV low voltage power distribution in buildings, public facilities and industrial installations where LSZH and halogen-free performance are required.
XGB Cable uses LSZH halogen-free materials, while XVB cable is commonly PVC based. XGB is preferred where smoke reduction, halogen-free performance and CPR fire classification are required.
XGB Cable can be installed outdoors or underground only when the selected version and installation method provide UV resistance, moisture protection and mechanical protection. Check the datasheet and local rules before installation.
