FAQ
What does the VDE code "NA2XS(FL)2Y" stand for?
N: Standard Cable (VDE). A: Aluminium Conductor. 2X: XLPE Insulation. S: Copper Wire Screen. (FL): Longitudinal and Radial Water-Tightness (F = swellable powder/tape, L = Aluminium tape bonded to sheath). 2Y: Polyethylene (PE) Outer Sheath.
What is the difference between NA2XS(F)2Y and NA2XS(FL)2Y?
NA2XS(F)2Y: Only Longitudinally water-blocked (prevents water running along the cable). NA2XS(FL)2Y: Longitudinally AND Radially water-blocked. The Al-laminate tape creates a hermetic seal, preventing moisture diffusion through the sheath into the insulation.
Is the cable UV resistant for outdoor use?
Yes. The black Polyethylene (PE) outer sheath is stabilized with carbon black, providing excellent resistance to UV radiation and weathering, making it suitable for open-air installation on cable trays or poles.
