FAQ
Where is N2XSEYFGbY cable commonly used?
It is widely used in power distribution networks, industrial plants, substations, and direct burial applications where mechanical stress is expected.
What is the specific advantage of "FGb" (Flat Wire Armor) over standard SWA?
The "FGb" armour consisting of flat galvanized steel wires held by a counter-helix tape provides superior impact resistance and crush protection compared to standard round Steel Wire Armor (SWA). It also allows for a slightly smaller overall diameter compared to heavy-duty round wires of equivalent protection levels, making it ideal for heavy industrial applications.
Is the N2XSEYFGbY cable water-blocked?
The standard "Y" (PVC) version is not longitudinally water-blocked. It relies on the sheath integrity. For wet environments where water migration inside the cable is a concern (e.g., high water table areas), you should specify N2XSEYF(F)GbY (with swellable powder/tapes) or similar longitudinal watertight variants.
