Type MV-105 cable is a high-performance shielded medium voltage power cable engineered for primary power circuits ranging from 3.6/6kv~26/35kv. The “105” designation signifies a maximum continuous conductor operating temperature of 105°C. This high-temperature rating provides superior ampacity and a greater safety margin compared to standard 90°C cables. It is also rated for emergency overload conditions up to 140°C and short circuit conditions up to 250°C. Its construction features a stranded copper or aluminum conductor, a high-dielectric strength Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) insulation system, a copper tape shield, and a rugged outer jacket. Its primary applications are in demanding industrial, commercial, and utility settings, with versatile installation methods including placement in conduits, underground ducts, aerial applications, or through direct burial.

Product features

  • XLPE has excellent dielectric strength, low dielectric loss and high thermal resistance. It is widely used MV-90 cable and cost-effective insulation material; EPR offers superior flexibility compared to XLPE, which can significantly ease installation, especially for larger conductor sizes or in conduits with multiple bends.
  • Excellent resistance to corona discharge, moisture, and “treeing”; Outstanding resistance to sunlight, oils, and most chemicals.
  • The good installation properties of this cable make installation easy, even on difficult routes.
  • Halogen-free and flame-retardant options available.
  • Standard:
    – ANSII ICEA S94-649- AEIC CS-8- ASTM B-3, ASTM B-8, ASTM B-230 & ASTM B-231- UL1072

Cable Construction

  1. Conductor: Compressed stranded copper (ASTM B3/B8) or aluminum (ASTM B400), Class B.
  2. Internal Semiconductor: Thermosetting material
  3. Insulation: XLPE/EPR with 100% or 133% insulation level
  4. External Semiconductor: Thermosetting material
  5. Metallic Screen: Copper tape (helically wrapped with 25% overlap) or concentric neutral wires
  6. External Sheath: PVC in red or black color
