XCMK-HF is a low-voltage, screened power and control cable, manufactured to Finnish and Nordic standards, featuring superior Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) properties for high-safety fixed installations. Its construction features solid or stranded copper conductors, insulated with high-performance Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE), a concentric screen of copper wires and tape, and a halogen-free outer sheath. This cable is engineered for power transmission and distribution in public and industrial buildings, and is suitable for fixed installation indoors, outdoors, on cable trays, and for direct burial in the ground in accordance with national regulations. They are an LSZH equivalent of the MCMK cables.

  • Superior Fire Safety (LSZH): The cable’s core advantage is its comprehensive Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) performance. In the event of a fire, it is flame-retardant and limits fire spread (EN 60332-3-23), emits very low levels of smoke to maintain visibility for evacuation (EN 61034-2), and releases no toxic or corrosive halogen gases (EN 60754-2).
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): The concentric conductor, formed by a layer of copper wires with a counter-wound copper tape, provides an effective screen against electromagnetic interference.
  • Certified and Compliant: Manufactured and tested in strict accordance with Finnish standard SFS 5546, Swedish standard SS 424 14 18, and European standard HD 604 S1 5I

FAQ

The key difference is fire safety. MCMK uses PVC insulation and sheathing. XCMK-HF is Halogen-Free (LSZH). You must choose XCMK-HF for hospitals, schools, or tunnels to ensure that, in case of fire, the cable emits no toxic gases and very little smoke.
Yes. It is rated for direct burial, outdoor, and indoor use. The cable features a Concentric Copper Screen which acts as a protective earth (PE) and provides mechanical protection, making it safe for underground industrial distribution grids.
XLPE allows for a continuous operating temperature of 90°C (vs 70°C for PVC). This higher thermal rating gives XCMK-HF a higher current carrying capacity (ampacity), often allowing engineers to downsize the cable cross-section compared to standard PVC cables for the same load.
