The VGV cable is a multi-core, flexible low-voltage power cable. Structurally, it is composed of stranded annealed copper conductors, insulated with a high-grade Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) layer, and encased in PVC outer sheath. This cable is extensively applied in indoor environments for wiring movable electrical appliances, extension cords, and light industrial equipment where flexibility and ease of handling are prioritized. It should not be used for direct burial, submerged in water, or installed in environments exposed to heavy mechanical abuse.

  • Manufactured in strict accordance with IEC 60227-5
  • Easy routing, coiling, and movement
  • Good dielectric strength and moderate mechanical protection against abrasion and impact
  • The insulation and sheath materials are self-extinguishing and flame-retardant according to IEC 60332-1-2
  • Voltage rating (Uo/U): 300/500V
  • Test Voltage: 2000V
  • Maximal operating conductor temperature: 70°C
  • Operating temperature: Flexible:  -5°C to +70 °C, Fixed: – 40°C to +70 °C
  • Max. temperature during short circuit (≤5S): 160°C
  • Min. Bending radius: 12 x diameter (Multi-core); 15 x overall diameter (Single-core)

FAQ

VGV is a light-duty flexible power cable (rated 300/500V) designed for indoor use. It is ideal for connecting movable appliances, household electronics, and light industrial equipment where flexibility is required. It is not suitable for high-stress mechanical environments or heavy machinery.
No. The standard PVC jacket is not UV-resistant and will crack under prolonged sunlight exposure. Additionally, it lacks the mechanical strength and water resistance required for direct burial. For outdoor use, install it inside a conduit or choose a dedicated outdoor cable like NYY.
The material. VGV uses PVC insulation, making it cost-effective and lightweight for standard indoor environments. H07RN-F uses Rubber insulation, which is heavier, water-resistant, and oil-resistant, designed for harsh construction sites or wet industrial areas where PVC would fail.
