- Product Details
EXVB cable is a robust, low-voltage power cable designed for the safe transmission and distribution of electricity in both residential and industrial environments. Its construction features a solid or stranded copper conductor, insulated with high-performance Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE), and protected by a robust, reinforced PVC outer sheath. This cable is engineered for energy supply in industrial and domestic settings, suitable for installation indoors, outdoors, in ducts, or directly buried with appropriate mechanical protection.
- High Electrical Performance: Supports consistent power delivery with minimal voltage drop.
- Enhanced Durability: Suitable for direct burial, outdoor exposure, and fixed indoor installations.
- Protective Sheathing: Double-layer PVC sheaths offer resistance to moisture, chemicals, and mechanical impact.
- Manufactured and tested in strict accordance with the Belgian standard NBN HD 603

FAQ
What is the difference between EXVB and XVB cable?
The insulation material. XVB uses PVC (rated 70°C), while EXVB uses XLPE (rated 90°C). This allows EXVB to handle higher current loads (ampacity) for the same thickness, making it the standard choice for main service connections and distribution boards.
Can EXVB cable be buried directly in the ground?
No. EXVB is unarmored. While the sheath is durable, it lacks mechanical protection against crushing or digging tools. For underground installation, EXVB must be placed inside a protective tube/duct. If you need a cable for direct burial without a tube, choose EVAVB (armored).
Is EXVB cable suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. The outer black PVC sheath is UV-resistant and weather-proof. It can be installed exposed on facades, cable trays, or outdoors without degrading from sunlight, unlike standard grey indoor cables.
