“3 Core Armoured Cable” refers to a heavy-duty electrical cable featuring three insulated conductors, reinforced with a protective metal layer (armour) and an outer sheath. Designed for both underground and exposed installations, the multi-core armoured cable combines high conductivity with exceptional mechanical protection. The “3 Core” configuration (typically brown, black, and gray phases) supports single- or three-phase power systems, while the armour—commonly Steel Wire Armoured (SWA Cable) or Copper Armoured—shields against physical damage, rodent attacks, and environmental stressors. Ideal for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects, the 3 Core Armoured Cable series includes versatile specifications like the 50mm 3 Core Armoured Cable for high-current applications and the 6mm 3 Core Cable for low-voltage lighting circuits.
Product Features
- The compressive strength of armored layer is improved more than non-armored cable, and the life of underground direct burial is ≥25 years.
- Low-smoke halogen-free (LSZH) type passes BS 6724 standard; Smoke density ≤ 50%; Toxicity index itc ≤ 0.5.
- Steel wire or copper armor layer is crush-resistant and maintains integrity in trenches, pipes or high-traffic areas.
- Resistant to moisture, oils, acids, UV rays and harsh climates.
- Compatible with 4 Core armored cable systems for 3-phase + neutral configurations
